Focus on Learning!

Our main area of focus this term, in all subjects, will be learning to improve ourselves by setting personal goals and reflecting on our progress, making sure that we are growing as balanced individuals.

As a learning house our guiding question this term will be:

“How could I further develop the skills that I have to become a more successful learner?”

Skills that influence our learning are:

  • organisational skills,
  • time management skills,
  • communication skills,
  • collaborative working skills,
  • reflective skills,
  • problem solving and problem posing skills,
  • research skills,
  • higher order thinking skills.

To become effective learners that actively enjoy learning, it is important that we concentrate on the following attitudes:

  • becoming more caring towards other people in our learning house and supporting/coaching them when they need help,
  • respecting ourselves and other people’s needs and their right to education.
  • balancing our activities so that we can grow in mind, spirit and body intellectually, emotionally and physically).
