IB News…!

It is with much delight that I can now officially announce that we have become a fully accredited IB World School, authorized to offer the IB PYP programme.

The official letter of accreditation arrived yesterday, together with a certificate of formal accreditation and the congratulations of the Director General and Regional Director at IB Headquarters, Geneva. We are now a member of the small but prestigious family of 35 IB schools in Germany and of the larger and more prestigious family of 2600 IB schools in 134 countries!

I would like to seize this opportunity to thank Mr Oskar Biffar, for his vision, the SBW for taking all the necessary financial risks in establishing our school as an International, IB and IGCSE school in Neustadt and all the parents, those actively involved as Beirat and PTA members as well those who have always supported our school philosophy, the IB programmes and our mentors in their day-to-day work.

Special thanks to our team of very dedicated and student-centred mentors and to our LPs who are learning very hard to become caring, principled, knowledgeable and open-minded citizens of the world. You all make us very proud to part of the ISN and now, the IB World community!

Good news never come alone!!! I would also like to mention in this newsletter that our application and strategic plan to become an IB Diploma school has been approved by the IB headquarters in Geneva. And, as of today, we are an IB Diploma candidate school.

We now have to study the criteria that will lead to successful accreditation carefully, plan ahead and build a strong programme implementation strategy, which includes the employment of new staff and investment in additional facilities such as Library and Science laboratory. Our IB Diploma accreditation visit is scheduled for May 2010!

Kind regards,

Sanjay.
