IB Diploma Accreditation – 28 May 2010

Mr Adrian Kearney, Director of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO)-Africa, Europe and Middle East region congratulated the International School of Neustadt / Weinstraße upon the school’s accreditation by the IBO to offer the IB Diploma Programme.

Mr Kearney welcomed the International School of Neustadt to the large, ever-growing community of 2950 IB schools in 140 countries and wished our ‘Lernfamilie’ every success in the implementation of the IB Diploma Programme.

The International School of Neustadt / Weinstraße was commended for its ‘successful implementation of the IB Philosophy and Pedagogy and for its friendly and supportive learning environment’ (IBO, May 2010). In order to meet the needs of ISN’s rapidly expanding learning community the school has recently acquired 500 square metres of additional space for its secondary school section (Middle school & IB Diploma). This new space will house a state-of-the-art science laboratory, an art room, a modern ICT (information and communication technology) room and a library.

The recent IB Diploma accreditation of the International School of Neustadt has put the small town of Neustadt an der Weinstraße on the World Map of international schools. Accredited: in December 2007 to offer the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (University of Cambridge), in April 2009 to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), and now, the IB Diploma Programme (DP), the International School of Neustadt has joined the small family of 43 IB schools in Germany, of which 14 offer both the IB PYP and the IB DP.

Most of the IB schools in Germany are in the large towns and cities like Bonn, Berlin, Frankfurt or Stuttgart. The International School of Neustadt is delighted to be able to offer to the residents of Neustadt and the neighbouring towns and villages an education of the highest standard and qualifications that are globally respected and internationally recognised.

The wide choice of subjects (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, History, Geography, Business studies & management, German, French and English along with Creativity, Action and Service, Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay), combined with a pedagogy that is based on small group and individual coaching and an atmosphere that actively promotes open-mindedness, tolerance, inquiry, and independence, the ISN aims to equip its students with the skills, knowledge and attitudes that will enable them to succeed at the best universities of the world.

    Hey Jacques,
I was wondering if it was still possible to swap IB subject choices. I can not remember if I chose Business Studies or Chemistry SL, and I want it to be Chemistry.
Also, when do you send the book list?
Hope you are enjoying your holidays.

      Hi Sophie,

Hope you enjoying the holidays too.

We can consider the changes when you return to school. Book list was sent to parents on the last day of school.

      Jacques
